Welcome to My Studio Notes!
I should probably start this with something polished and professional about being an artist.
Unfortunately, I just spent ten minutes looking for a paintbrush that was in my hand.
So this feels more accurate.
Hi, I’m Erin Marie. I paint pet portraits, buy art supplies with very specific plans for them, get emotionally attached to animals I have never met, and homeschool two boys somewhere in the middle of that.
This little nook of the ‘net is Studio Notes.
It’s where I share what happens around the art, not just the finished paintings.
The supplies I actually use. Paintings that went sideways before they came together. Things I’m still learning about watercolor. Art projects for kids. Animals who deserve to have their faces painted and their stories told. And probably the occasional moment where I try something new and immediately discover why nobody else was doing it that way.
Basically, if my portfolio is the cleaned-up living room before company comes over for dinner, Studio Notes is the kitchen.
There’s paint on the counter, somebody needs a snack, and I’m in the middle of telling you a story.
I’m glad you’re here.
Pull up a chair.
Just make sure you check for cats first.
